It is with a heavy heart that I reach out to you once again, this time with a plea for urgent assistance. Lola, has taken a turn for the worse and has necessitated another emergency admission to the hospital after undergoing extensive tests. The diagnosis is FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), and immediate treatment is imperative for her survival.
During her initial admission, specialists prioritized stabilizing Lola and administering emergency blood transfusions to address her dangerously low red blood cell count. Once her condition stabilized, they began treating her severe liver infection and anaemia.
Despite fluctuations in her temperature, the medical team deemed Lola stable enough to be discharged, allowing her to continue oral medications at home. They also scheduled her for weekly iron and B12 injections. However, a week later, she experienced a sudden decline, revealing the underlying cause to be FIP.
FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) was once considered incurable, but recent advancements have introduced highly effective treatments that can save cats' lives. However, to receive treatment for FIP is very costly and it necessitates 3 days in hospital receiving Remdesivir through intravenous fluids and then she will be discharged with oral medication that she will need to have for up to 3 months. months, I was not expecting this and I know it’s so expensive and I’m feeling so overwhelmed right now with so many critical cases and now I’m faced with trying to raise funds again to fund this urgent treatment for Lola which is crucial for her survival.
I am humbly asking for your help in raising funds for Lola's treatment. I understand that we have rallied together before, and your generosity helped cover the costs of her previous blood transfusion. For that, I am profoundly grateful. However, Lola now faces yet another medical emergency, and the financial burden is overwhelming.
Your support, whether big or small, would mean the world to me and to Lola. Together, we can give her the chance she deserves to fight this illness and come back home where she belongs.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and compassion.
With sincere gratitude,
Mona
