Hi, my name is Tatiana. I am fundraising for my friend Zheni and her family. On April 11, 2022, Zheni's husband, Danail Vasilev (44 years old), suddenly went into a coma due to a ruptured brain aneurysm. Later he had two additional strokes and has been in Bellevue Hospital's ICU for over a month now. His current neurological condition is very severe. Danail is only able to move the fingers of his right hand, and he is not able to speak or eat on his own. He is receiving nutrition through a feeding tube.

According to doctors, Danail will need extensive therapy and rehabilitation for a long time.

Besides the fact that Zheni and her two children (10years old Jennifer and 12 years old Eduard) are terrified for the future health and well-being of Danail, they are also in a horrible financial situation since Danail was the only breadwinner in the family. Currently, Zheni spends a lot of time at the hospital with her husband and caring for her children after school. She takes small jobs( like cleaning) to survive and feed her children, but it is not enough to pay for the bills, rent, and other essential expenses. They spent all of their savings and have no one to count on.

Most importantly, their insurance only provides three weeks of rehab, and they desperately need money for Danail's recovery.
