Hola! Somos parte del equipo que acompaña a Yohanna en este momento difícil y hemos creado esta campaña en su nombre. Yohanna ha enfrentado una condición hepato-biliar desde joven, pasando por múltiples cirugías de alto riesgo. Hoy necesita urgentemente una quinta operación que no puede costear por sí sola, y por eso hemos querido ayudarla a compartir su historia y buscar apoyo entre quienes puedan tender una mano solidaria. Te invitamos a leer su testimonio, escrito con sus propias palabras:

"Hola, soy Yohanna. Desde muy joven he enfrentado una compleja condición congénita en las vías biliares que me ha llevado a pasar por 4 cirugías mayores en mi vida, y hoy nuevamente, debo enfrentar una más, mi quinta operación urgente.

Mi historia comenzó en el 2007, cuando con solo 19 años me diagnosticaron pancreatitis y, tras estudios médicos, descubrieron un Quiste de Colédoco Tipo II, una condición congénita poco común. A partir de ese momento, viví uno de los procesos más duros y decisivos de mi vida: múltiples cirugías, días en terapia intensiva, complicaciones severas, hemorragias internas, infecciones y meses hospitalizada. Hubo momentos críticos en los que mi vida estuvo seriamente en riesgo, pero gracias a la mano de Dios que me ayudó y la fuerza que me dió para salir adelante.

Después de muchos años de controles médicos, disciplina alimenticia y una vida marcada por el autocuidado, hoy vuelvo a enfrentar una situación crítica. En marzo de este año (16 años después desde mi última cirugía), comencé nuevamente con síntomas de obstrucción biliar: ictericia, fiebre, dolor abdominal e infección. Los exámenes confirmaron lo que temía: tengo una nueva obstrucción en las vías biliares y cálculos que deben ser removidos mediante una cirugía abierta compleja llamada "Hepatectomía Segmentaria", que consiste en extraer una parte del hígado comprometida para liberar la vía biliar y evitar mayores complicaciones.

Vivo en Santiago de Chile desde 2016. Mi familia se encuentra en Venezuela y en otros países, lo que hace aún más difícil este proceso. Esta vez, además, debo enfrentarlo sin mi mamá, quien fue mi sostén en las cirugías anteriores y que lamentablemente falleció en 2013. Aun así, me rodea una red de amigos que me acompaña con cariño, pero los costos médicos son muy altos y no puedo cubrirlos sola.

Es por eso que hoy acudo a tí. Necesito tu apoyo para poder costear esta cirugía cuanto antes, cada día que pasa pone en riesgo desarollar una condición aún más grave en mi cuerpo. Tu aporte -grande o pequeño- será una gran ayuda en este momento tan difícil. Sé que hay muchas causas nobles allá afuera, pero si puedes ayudarme también, te estaré eternamente agradecida.

We are part of the team supporting Yohanna during this difficult time, and we've created this campaign on her behalf. Yohanna has faced a complex hepato-biliary condition since she was young, undergoing multiple high-risk surgeries. Today, she urgently needs a fifth operation, which she cannot afford on her own, and that’s why we want to help her share her story and seek support from those who can lend a helping hand.

We invite you to read her testimony, written in her own words:

"Hi, I'm Yohanna.

Since I was very young, I’ve lived with a complex congenital condition in my bile ducts, which has led me to undergo four major surgeries in my life — and now, I am facing yet another one, an urgent fifth operation.

My story began in 2007, when at just 19 years old I was diagnosed with pancreatitis. After medical tests, doctors discovered I had a Type II Choledochal Cyst, a rare congenital condition. From that point on, I endured one of the hardest and most defining journeys of my life: multiple surgeries, days in intensive care, severe complications, internal bleeding, infections, and months spent in the hospital. There were critical moments when my life was seriously at risk, but by the grace of God and the strength He gave me, I made it through.

After many years of medical follow-ups, a strict diet, and a life of constant self-care, I am once again facing a serious situation. In March of this year (16 years after my last surgery), I began experiencing symptoms of bile duct obstruction: jaundice, fever, abdominal pain, and infection. The tests confirmed what I feared. I have a new obstruction in my bile ducts along with gallstones, which must be treated through a complex open surgery called a Segmental Hepatectomy. This procedure involves removing a portion of the liver to free the affected bile duct and prevent further complications.

I've been living in Santiago, Chile since 2016. My family is in Venezuela and other countries, which makes going through this even harder. This time, I also have to face it without my mom, who was my greatest support during past surgeries and sadly passed away in 2013. Still, I’m surrounded by a network of friends who are supporting me with love and care, but the medical costs are very high, and I simply can’t cover them on my own.

That’s why I’m reaching out to you. I need your support to afford this surgery as soon as possible. Every day that passes increases the risk of developing a more serious condition. Your help big or small will make a huge difference during this difficult time. I know there are many noble causes out there, but if you can support me too, I’ll be forever grateful.
