Please donate to help with Penelope's medical

Hi everyone!

I am an animal advocate and a volunteer at my local animal shelter. When I was there this weekend, I bonded with Penelope, fka Peeti in the shelter, who was scheduled for euthanasia on 1/23. I pulled her from the shelter about 10 minutes before her hold was up - she would have been euthanized this evening.

Penelope was on the euthanasia list because she tested high heartworm positive, which is a very expensive but curable (!!) medical issue. Since I pulled her as an individual and don't have a rescue backing me, I am trying to raise funds to help cover her spay (~$600), her vet boarding (~$500), her heartworm ($1,500) and other vaccines and medications she needs to be on, plus food, toys, etc.

Any dollar towards her medical care would be much appreciated! I will be sure to update everyone with her progress via photos and videos. Thank you for caring about animals in need.

About Penelope

This 2 year old staffy mix is nothing short of the sweetest thing in the world. When I took her out for her initial walk with me, she was terrified, stuck herself in between my legs, but was kind and quiet to the other dogs she passed in the kennel. In the yard, all she wanted was a hug and some cuddles. After realizing that I was her friend, she gave me soft tail wags and her beautiful smile.

She appears to be very mild mannered with other dogs. She is polite and does not bark. She has a sweet little snort when she feels content.

When I took her to the vet today, she was so sweet with the vet techs. They squeaked her new stuffed animal and she immediately fell in love with them. She also loves a good session of fetch with a tennis ball.

Penelope is truly all love. We consider ourselves the lucky ones that we got to help her in her time of need.

Any excess funds raised will be used to help the next dog in need or sent to a 501c3 rescue.
