Hi my name is Courteney. I have a beautiful dog called Molly and this is our cancer journey so far. The end of October (31st) my dog Molly had swollen lymph nodes and a week later we got them tested, fast forward a couple of weeks and her lymph nodes go down especially the ones that were very present in her neck so I thought maybe possibly it was something else but I hadn’t had the results yet until I seen two missed calls on my phone from the vet and as soon as they spoke I had a feeling something wasn’t right, he told me my baby has lymphoma by this point my head was spinning but the vet said it’s the type that would respond well with chemotherapy and she would get about another year, but without it only a couple of months so I and the vet have decided to go with the chemo, the treatment is weekly for 16 weeks and they have decided to start now instead of waiting any longer. I’ve had a day in between them calling me and booking the treatment to think about this but I will do anything for Molly, she is a fighter. Even last year she got through losing my dog Buddy suddenly and unexpectedly to bone cancer and later that year got surgery to remove a lump, a year later I didn’t think we would be going through the worst news. I am really not coping with this news at all and I don’t know where to turn. She is such a happy dog, still so full of life and deserves more time. She loves her walks, adventures with her human and lots of cuddles. I just wish this wasn’t real. Molly has been with me every day for the last twelve years and those who know us know how much she means to me. This is going to be very costly for us so any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a breakdown of cost estimates for just the chemo alone in two 8 week blocks which I will add below:
Week 1 £361 2 £280 3 £351 4 £220 5 £293 6 £362 7 £280 8 £227 & then it is the same for the following 8 weeks. I’m not sure if there will be other costs involved but this is what I have at the moment. She may also need other supplements etc and other medications along the way. I will update as we find out more. We have been through a lot the last couple of years and it is so hard to ask for help but I can’t give up on Molly.
Please, if you’re able to donate, even a small amount, it would mean the world to us. It can make a difference in her fight for more time. If you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser would be a huge help in reaching more kind hearts.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart and Molly’s for reading, caring and supporting us through this difficult time
