Hi,

My name is Mike, and I'm about to do something that I never thought I would do - ask people for financial help.

My wife, Victoria and I are both past retirement age and have been happily living a quiet life in our little home in a small New Mexico town for many years.

Our favorite pastime is hiking all over this beautiful area we live in and collecting all kinds of cool rocks.

The reason that I have started this gofundme page is that a few months ago I was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer that has metastasized into my spine, hips, and pelvic bones.

This came as quite a shock to us, and after several months of hormone therapy, radiation treatments, and chemotherapy - our resources are running low and the only thing that the doctors will promise me is more of the same for as long as I last. The treatments are worse than the cancer - and they only attempt to slow down the cancer's growth, with no regard to quality of life.

That's not good enough!

We are believing God for a complete healing - and one of the tools that He has shown us is a hospital in Tijuana, Mexico that uses a wide array of alternative treatments to actually destroy and even eradicate the cancer.

That's what the money is for - airfare, a full course of treatments, which includes accommodations for my wife and I during the 20 day inpatient process, and followup medications and treatments.

It sounds kind of expensive - and it is - but a similar program in the US costs 2 to 3 times as much.

I have set a goal that is actually higher than the cost that we were quoted, to help offset some of the expenses that we have already incurred, and any additional treatments that might be needed.

Then, to top things off, as I was getting ready to start this page last week I had a heart attack and had to spend a few days in the hospital - more bills.
