Hello,

My name is Jen and this GoFundMe is to raise funds for dear friends of mine who were some of the best neighbours one could ask for.

Renee has been suffering through severe complications of type 1 diabetes over the past 6 years. She is no longer able to work and help with the household bills. From infections, multiple surgeries (including a triple bypass, toe and heel amputations), and foot ulcers, she fell during the ice storm this past winter, breaking her leg, requiring a rod and pins to repair. While recovering from this surgery, infection set in, putting her back into Napanee Hospital. Her system crashed, and she was rushed to Kingston (KGK) and put on life support for over a week. To top it all off, during her coma, a bone infection in her right leg required a below-the-knee amputation that she is now recovering from.

Renee and her family have been through so much and have missed so much work that their financial situation has become urgent as well. If you're able to help, even if by contributing a few dollars, we will be forever grateful. These funds will also go toward a prosthetic leg once she reaches that stage of recovery.
