Please donate & help spread awareness of MND for John Chart

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a devastating illness that doesn’t just affect the person diagnosed but has a massive impact on their families, friends and anyone who loves them.

It robs people of their ability to move, speak, eat and eventually breathe, all while their mind remains fully intact. It is heartbreaking to see someone you love, trapped in a body that they no longer recognise. But, despite the cruelty of this disease, there is one thing MND doesn’t always take and that’s the spirit of those who live with it.

One of my dearest friends John Chart, is living proof of that.

No matter how much MND has tried to slow him down - he has never let it define him or stop him from achieving his goals.

He has continued to approach life with the same positivity, determination, passion and strength that has always made him such an incredible force. His courage in the face of this illness inspires everyone who knows him and that’s exactly why this cause means so much to me.

In 2025, Myself and John's son will be taking on the Three Passes Trek in Nepal - to honour my friend and his Dad and all those living with MND.

The Three Passes Trek in Nepal is about 137 kilometers long and has an elevation gain of around 8,800 meters. The trek crosses three high passes:

Renjo La: 5,360 meters

Cho La: 5,420 meters

Kongma La: 5,535 meters..

Once we have done this we will then be going for a 2026 Everest Summit... nothing will stop us!!!

In a conversation John and I had whilst in the snow on the side of the Pen y Fan we were going to aim for the summit of Everest and shook hands on the idea, sadly since then John has lost most of the ability to walk even just a few paces.. to men a hand shake is a powerful thing, in keeping my word I will do this Trek and then the big one will follow later, carrying and raising the flag, John's flag for MND awareness. What makes this even more powerful is I will be doing this with my friend Chris that is John's son. Both bound by a gentleman's handshake and a promise to honour.

This will obviously be a massive physical test for us but it’s also deeply personal.

There is currently no cure for MND and time is precious for those living with it but there’s always hope.

The money we raise will cover the costs of purchasing new equipment to support the work happening at Kings College London, where scientists are working tirelessly, to find a cure for the disease that has taken so much from my friend and Chris' Dad.

We ask for your support, no matter how big or small to show everyone living with this terrible disease that they are not alone but we walk this journey with them.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your generosity and support, it means the absolute world.
