Hi, my name is Lisa and I am trying to help raise money for our family friend Serge Pelletier. He is like a brother to my husband - they grew up together. Serge was helping a friend with a project around the friend's house when the ground caved in.

He fell on rocks at the bottom of the hole created by the cave-in. The fire department was able to extract him and get him to the hospital. In the ER it was determined that he broke many vertebrae in his neck and back. Surgery was on Dec. 21st to place metal plates and screws to repair the damage.

We are not sure how long his hospital stay will be but the doctors say his road to recovery will be 5-6 months. While his medical bills will be covered there is still the need for essentials like heat, food and other monthly bills.

I know these last few years have been tough on many of us, but any little bit you can give will be appreciated and put to good use.
