Please donate to help Ron Brumagin battle ALS

My name is Brenda Ruggiero and I have known Ron Brumagin for 46 years. I was in his wedding to my cousin Kriss. This fund raiser is for a man who has given his life in helping and encouraging the people in his life.

Ron and Kriss are the recipients of this fund raiser and all proceeds go to them. It was in 2014 when Ron’s symptoms began. Ron’s life changed dramatically when he was diagnosed with ALS in 2019. Ron built his home in 1985, and has always been responsible for the maintenance and upkeep on their property. As ALS has progressed, they have had to sell their home last year because Ron’s arms were affected severely by the disease. This past year he also gave up driving and playing the drums after 55 years.

Recently they had the opportunity to acquire a piece of medical equipment that would assist Ron in eating. But as they researched it, the price was out of their financial ability. I was present when they discussed it. And do you know how Ron handled this news. He said “Oh, well I don’t need it.” But, at this time he is finding it very difficult to use his arms to eat.

But this is Ron. When you are with Ron, unless you know he has ALS, or notice he can’t lift his arms, you would be in the presence of a positive and joyful individual. I cannot say I would handle this disease as well as Ron does, knowing the future effects of it, with the grace and acceptance Ron shows.

I am asking you on their behalf, for it took some convincing for them to agree to let me post this Gofundme. Please donate to Ron and Kriss for the immediate medical needs to cope with this debilitating disease. And for the medical needs that are coming as the progression continues.

Now I would be remiss if I didn’t add the most important factor that Ronnie wants me to mention. That is his complete faith and trust in his LORD and Saviour. His joy in coping with this disease comes directly from God. He wants all to know that he is fighting this disease the best he can, but knows God has him in His hands, and he is quite content knowing this fact. Both Kriss and Ron want to thank you for taking the time to read their story, and they ask God for a special blessing for each of you.
