Dear Patron,
Due to a failure on the backend of our Square account, payments for 278 cashier transactions did not process. After two weeks of investigation with Square, we have come to the conclusion these transactions cannot be recovered. It represents a loss of $13,900.00 to our society. This was not caused by human error, and our trust in the service provided by Square has been eroded.
We encourage everyone in attendance to check their bank statements and/or their credit card statement/online accounts. If you do not see transactions for drink ticket purchases ("square" or "Chaine Val D'Okanagan") on your statement, then you represent one or more of the unprocessed transactions. You will not be charged by Square at any time in the future.
This is not a scam. You can reach out to me for verification anytime using the contact info provided in our GoFundMe profile.
We ask that you please consider making a donation here on GoFundMe for the amount you intended to spend at the event. Tickets were sold in $8 increments, so please do your best to approximate what you purchased.
Any donation helps. We unfortunately have vendors to pay from these funds. We regret this occurred and plan to work with our bank's preferred POS vendor Moneris in the future.
We thank you for your generous donation in advance. A small portion of these funds will help send our Young Sommelier Candidate Grant Bronconnier to Geneva Switzerland this September.
Yours in Hospitality, Stephen Duke
