Hello. My name is Joe and I'm raising money for Dutchie (Peter Van Doren). For those that are unaware, our good friend Dutchie had a serious accident last Friday and sustained major injuries. He’s currently in ICU at Suan Dok Hospital in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Without being dramatic, his condition is dire!!! He will need facial surgery and treated for other issues that need to be stabilized.

Dutchie has been an integral part of our lives in Chiang Mai, Thailand for the better part of 9 years. He’s a staple at many venues and always welcomed with open arms. His sharp wit and sense of humour is well-known and appreciated. I’ve yet to meet a person who’s uttered an unkind word or disparaged Dutchie. He’s incredibly well-liked and respected amongst the locals and expat community alike.

Unfortunately, Dutchie does not have medical insurance due to pre-existing conditions. His accident insurance will cover only 2-3 days in the ICU. Hospital bills mount very quickly as we’re well aware. These expenses will ruin him financially and emotionally. Dutchie is a very proud person and he would recoil at the idea of a GoFundMe campaign. But it is what it is and necessity trumps pride.

I know that times are hard for everyone. But, if you can spare a few Baht/Dollars etc it would be of immense help.

All contributions will go toward his hospital bill which will be substantial. If there are any funds left (which I sincerely doubt), they will go towards his post-hospital care/expenses.

I will kick it off with a 12,000 Baht contribution. Any amount, however small, will be greatly appreciated.
