Nefry was admitted to Riverside Community Hospital on June 27th. She went in due to a severe stomach pain. After the Doctors ran a few test they found out she had blood clots all over her body including her brain. Just when we thought she was being treated, she had a stroke that worsened her condition and at that point since she wasn’t getting any better she was transferred to UCI Medical Center for further testing. Because her body continued to deteriorate she was admitted to the ICU, and it was then when we found out she had liver cancer. Due to her body weakening there was not much the Doctors could do at that point and unfortunately she lost the battle and passed away today August 1st around 8am. I am deeply sadden and heartbroken because Nefry wasn’t only my cousin, she was a mother to her two children, Oscar Amin and Danna, but she was also a daughter, a sister and a friend to many. Nefry was someone you could count on, someone that was there to listen and always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed the help. She was a happy soul that would light up every room. For Nefry there wasn’t anything more important than her children. She was a single mom working up to 3 jobs to support them and keep her household afloat. My heart is broken knowing her children have lost their primary support and role model. As a single mom myself, I can only imagine how hard it would be to leave my children behind.
