Who this will help

Hello everyone my name is Melinda and I am a proud mother of two amazing daughter's Emily and Melissa Compagno. My beautiful 19 year old daughter suffered a traumatic brain injury last year in 2023. This injury has left my daughter disabled with the need of total care. Due to the amount of expense's we are facing I have started this Gofundme on behalf of Melissa to help raise the funds needed. We also have shirts being sold on Amazon through the Diva Strong brand.

Why I'm fundraising

On July 24th of this year, my 19-year-old daughter Melissa suffered a stroke due to high blood pressure which caused her to have a severe brain bleed. This left my baby girl in a coma for a month and a half. I’m so grateful to report that in the past four months she has had tremendous leaps into her recovery, but her care is not over. She has a long road ahead of her and will require as much support as possible. For 5 months Melissa was in an acute rehabilitation facility that specialized in traumatic brain injuries. They were a tremendous blessing to her and our family. The good news is that Melissa is now home and being cared for by her family and friends. I myself am her primary caregiver. Which means I am not bringing in a steady paycheck. This is why this GoFundMe is essential to continue her care.

The impact of your support

I can honestly say that the impact of your support will be enormous. Your support will help with Melissa’s care and expenses. There are uncovered expenses and the bills are adding up. Melissa will still need continuous care, therapy, medical and emotional support, as well as special transportation. Please consider donating to help Melissa.
