Physical Therapy Fundraiser for Don Raber aka Ray Dalton

Hello Friends & Family;

OVERVIEW: I’ve created this “GoFundMe Campaign” to get me through taking the month of February off work for Physical Therapy to rehab my right hip.

WHAT HAPPENED: I twisted my right hip running to catch a ride on August 18th 2025.

By Sept 20th it had gotten so bad I was in constant pain and those around realized I could barely walk. This greatly impacted my ability to work. That's when I sought professional medical help and began some recommended stretching exercises. After 5.5 months of stretching and trying on my own to strengthen the hip, my recovery plateaued at only 60% of my full strength.

On January 20th I did an X-Ray and January 24th an MRI. MRI results: Degenerative change at the chondral labral with what appears to be an early labral tear without detachment. (A labral tear is a tear in the labrum, a ring of cartilage that surrounds the socket of a ball-and-socket joint like the hip or shoulder.)

RECOMMENDATION: Omit any activities that impact the ability of the labral tear to mend. Continued mild stretching, then minimal muscle building in the area after healing occurs. (In other words, no work for 3-4 weeks) If this labral tear is not addressed, this injury could become permanent.

RECOVERY TIME: 4-6 weeks. A large portion of this recovery requires me not to work at all. Fortunately I do have Good Medical coverage through Blue Shield. Unfortunately that doesn't cover any loss of income to pay for basic necessities of food, rent, phone etc.

FUNDRAISER AMOUNT: The $4000 I am raising will get me through the month of February. At the end of that time I plan to return to work at a reduced level for several more weeks to prevent re-injury
