I would like to appeal to the generosity and support that friends have always showed and came together when someone is in need.

I am sure you all remember a Port Washington resident, my sister Risa Hartmann, and her two kids Matthew and Ben.

Risa passed away suddenly in 2021, leaving behind her two young sons. Since her death, her children have been living with their father. Unfortunately, their father has not been anywhere near the parent Risa was, and this has resulted in the boys being evicted from their home, a home they lived in with Risa before her death. They are currently residing in a motel with their father, and they have no idea where they will be living going forward. They are deeply upset and concerned for their own future. No child should have to deal with such uncertainties.

Risa’s mom was financially helping the boys, however, she is currently battling metastatic brain cancer and is unable to continue to do so at this time. Therefore, a GoFundme account has been established to help the boys overcome this unfortunate situation.

A little help will go a long way.

No child should ever have to face similar circumstances.
