Hi meet our 7 year old nephew Mateo whose life got turned upside down in September 2022 after devastating diagnosis of a condition called NMOSD (Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disease), which is acute Myelitis with severe spinal cord injury, acute Tribal Syndrome and severe Quadriparesis (muscle weakness in all four limbs). It is a very rare disease that affects only 3 out of a million children every year.

There has been a very long journey of physio, rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, hippotherapy and biochemical treatments to restore his bodily functions. However, the specialists said that despite all the hard work he puts in, some of his muscles have not engaged at all and the only hope now is to start a Robotic rehabilitation for children. Only a few centres in Europe are providing this essential programme and at the moment our family is in touch with both of them. We have just found there is a clinic in America which sounds promising too and will be contacting them for more information and prices.
