Hi, my name is Ana Lorenzo, I'm Magaly "Maggie" Handley's sister. I set up this fundraiser to ask for help for her mounting medical bills and ongoing financial obligations. Maggie has been dealing with serious medical issues for over a month now. She had a malignant tumor in her intestines that was removed but the operation caused severe complications. Maggie was in ICU for over a week after requiring a second operation. She is still recovering in the hospital but will need rehabilitation and further treatments. Her family depends on her financially as she is the sole provider to our elder parents (our 92-year-old father is battling dementia & prostate cancer and our mother had a fall recently and fractured her wrist). Maggie is an amazing sister, a dedicated mother, a loving daughter and an exceptional friend and human being. We truly appreciate all the love and support we've received during these difficult moments.
