I'm starting this GoFundMe for my parents on behalf of my siblings, Sarah and Brian, as well as our Aunt Mary.
In 2012, John was diagnosed with Scleroderma and Raynaud's disease. Scleroderma is a group of rare diseases that involve the hardening and tightening of the skin, it can also cause problems in the blood vessels, internal organs and digestive tract. With Raynaud's disease, smaller arteries that supply blood to the skin become narrow, limiting blood flow to affected areas. Unfortunately, there's no cure for either disease.
John has been tormented by these brutal diseases for a decade now... Losing partial fingers, battling ulcers that won't heal, and currently, he's at the hospital suffering from osteomyelitis in his right foot, which as of now, will need to be amputated to prevent the infection from spreading further. He's unable to walk, and he can't wheel himself around in a wheelchair due to shoulder issues. He's also become very limited in what he's able to do with his hands, dealing with ongoing finger pain from the diseases.
With my dad being in and out of the hospital more frequently the last two years, the hospital bills have really piled up on my parents. Additionally, my dad is in need of someone to stay home with him to assist him throughout the day while my mom's at work. The money raised would be used to help my parents with hospital bills, medical supplies, prescriptions, and hopefully, it'd be enough for either my mom to take off work to be home to care for my dad, or so they could hire a professional caretaker.
If you know my parents, you know what loving, kind, and generous people they are. They've been dealt a rough hand and I know they would greatly appreciate anything you can give...
Thank you so very much! ❤️
