Gabriella has been hospitalized since the beginning of August 2023 for complications due to low platelets. In this time, she has had a splenectomy due to ITP. She also had two brain surgeries to relieve a blood clot in her brain. Her recovery has had its challenges as keeping her platelets stable has been problematic. She was in rehab to work on transitioning home, but was recently transferred back to the hematology floor due to a severe drop in her platelets.

Prior to these medical challenges, Gabby was on the soccer and track and field teams for her high school and held a part time job. This is her senior year of high school.
