Please, donate to help Dou's recovery!

Hello, my name is Natalie, and I’m creating this fundraiser to raise funds for extended therapies for my uncle, Dou Sitthideth. Dou recently suffered from a large vessel stroke causing him to have brain swelling and a collapsed lung. Due to the serious complications, he had to undergo a craniotomy (bone flap surgery) leaving him paralyzed on the right side with multiple complications. He is still recovering and unable to walk, write, or speak. Dou needs continuous rounds of three different physical therapy; physical, occupational, and speech. Unfortunately, his insurance only covers a limited amount of therapy, and it simply isn’t enough. Just to get him out of bed with assistance alone takes 20 mins (currently he only receives 20 minutes of therapy per session). We’re hoping to raise enough money to cover longer, more frequent sessions to help Dou recover as quickly as possible—as well as funds to help with the family's everyday expenses and bills while he is unable to work as he was the sole provider for his family of five.

Dou first came to America as a child from Laos and has lived in San Diego ever since. He is an accomplished machinist at Johnson Matthey,  and has been the sole breadwinner for his family, including his mother in law that lives with him. His wife and children would greatly appreciate any and all the help you can provide during this difficult time. Thank you so much!
