Devastating circumstances amidst a years-long abusive marriage now leave Danae, a single mother with two young daughters and no money or financial resources for food or clothing, let alone extraordinary medical and legal expenses necessary for her safety and the safety of her girls.

Please help our friend to recover from the inconceivable physical, financial, and emotional trauma described below, in the face of mounting medical bills, legal fees, and the costs to meet her daughters’ most basic needs.

On November 13, 2022, Danae was ripped from her shower and, over the course of 3 hours was brutally beaten, repeatedly raped, strangled to the point of unconsciousness numerous times and held captive in her own home by her husband. Danae sustained a broken nose, internal and external bruises to her throat, orbital damage, and unspeakable trauma to her body from the repeated rapes. Her husband subsequently fled, was apprehended and remains in jail where he faces 15 felony charges.

Danae and her husband are in the throes of divorce proceedings in which Danae details a tormented history of physical, emotional, verbal, and financial abuse at the hands of her husband who, among other deplorable acts, depleted their bank accounts, desecrated and discarded her clothing and personal belongings, and cut off Danae’saccess to funds. Now, with her husband having been the breadwinner, and her inability to return to her prior part-time work as she recovers from considerable physical and lifelong emotional trauma, she is without the ability to pay her bills, take care of her children, much less fund what promises to be extensive litigation. Danae has limited family resources of her own, and her husband's family has made no attempts, financial or otherwise, to help Danae and her children in the wake of these heinous crimes.
