I am reaching out to ask the community to please help an inspirational 12 year old fighting cancer!

My name is Natashia Sheerin. I work with Whitney Sorrells at Del Valle Elementary School in Del Valle, TX. We are the Special Education Behavior Team and make an impact helping children with special needs every day.

Whitney is a single mother with two daughters. Her youngest daughter, Kamari Caldwell is 12 years old. She was born with Neurofibromitosis type 1. It's been a long hard road with this diagnosis.

Her health had been stable until October when she noticed a lump on her arm. After many hurdles to get her diagnosed, she found out on Feb 13th that it is a Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor. (Cancer)

As soon as the diagnosis came, so did the appointments and the time off of work that came with them.

As of now Kamari has radiation Monday through Friday over 45 mins away. Shes seeing numerous doctors and specialists . After radiation is completed they are planning to do a very extensive surgery to remove the tumor. This will require a lengthy hospital stay and months and months of challenging recovery.

As of now Whitney is taking half days to take her daughter to radiation and will have to take much more time off in the coming months.

She needs help to pay her bills so she can be there for her daughter without the stress of where they are going to live, where their next meal is coming from, or how to get to these very important appointments. She is currently planning for future treatments and surgeries and more specialist appointments so the need is on going.

Although she would never ask herself, i know she needs that extra support and assistance to focus on what matters most. Please help this beautiful family, this mother who has become like a sister to me. This PRAYER WARRIOR who has instilled that into her daughters. This 12 year old girl who is so strong and taking this so well. So that they can get through these hard times.
