Judah James Reed Memorial and Funeral Fund

Donation protected
My name is Christyanne Gaspar and my fiancé, Sylvester Pope and I are the proud Godparents of sweet Judah James Reed. This Go Fund Me is being created to help “Judah Bear” and his parents as they navigate his unexpected medical care in Atlanta. His amazing parents, Michael and Ashlee will be spending a lot of time traveling between Atlanta and Macon. I am asking that you donate to perhaps ease the unexpected burdens of what is the otherwise joyful arrival of their firstborn baby.

The funds are needed because they will be staying in Atlanta for an indefinite amount of time. They will most likely still travel to Macon for appointments and church services, but their main focus will be staying with Judah in Atlanta. In order to accomplish this, they will use the funds to help pay for meals, gas money and their dog Mountain’s lodging and any other unexpected expenses. This will also offset some of the stress of not being able to work due to traveling.

They will prayerfully be allowed to stay at the Ronald McDonald house as it is right at the hospital for quick response if necessary.  When unable to stay at the Ronald McDonald house the funds will go towards lodging as well.   Many people have asked Michael and Ashlee the questions of how can we help? This is the best way to help them as they navigate through uncharted territory and nurse Judah to 100% health.

Below is a blurb from Michael and Ashlee regarding the medical issues and miracles occurring for little Judah:

“Baby Judah is a precious little boy who was born on May 4, 2022 at 12:17 pm. He was born with a giant omphalocele, which means his liver, stomach and intestines were born in a sac outside of his abdominal cavity. Due to his organs being displaced, his lungs did not develop fully. His smaller lungs lead to a condition called pulmonary hypertension. Judah was born at the Atrium hospital in Macon, Georgia where immediately after entering the world had to be placed on a ventilator to assist his lungs. After multiple attempts to get nutrients to his heart his numbers started to crash and he was transported via Angel Transport as a last effort to get him stabilized. We were told that a hospital in Atlanta had an EMCO machine that could work in place of his lungs until they were developed enough to work on their own. Upon arrival in Atlanta, their initial evaluation was that he was too sick for the ECMO and we were told that he would not make it through the night. But we did not settle for those reports and flooded heaven with the prayers of many!! Within the hour, his numbers completely reversed from a downward spiral to an upward swing. His carbon dioxide went from 120 to 53 (goal of 50 or below); his oxygen went from 69 to the 80’s (goal of 80 or above); his blood pressure raised enough to the point where they could lower his medications and attempt to wean him off some of his 8 medications. We came from death to life in a matter of minutes, but we still have a long journey ahead of us. In order for Judah’s Pulmonary Hypertension to improve, we need his lungs to develop, come off of the ventilator, come off medications and show the world what a miracle working God we have!!! After this all happens we still have his omphalocele that needs to be addressed. Thankfully, that mainly involves a treatment that we can do at home. We will be applying a daily ointment to the omphalocele to help the skin grow around it, then when he is older and his abdominal cavity is larger, we can have surgery to insert the organs into their proper place. We thank you for going on this journey with us. We know it might take a while, but we believe the fight is worth it for Baby Judah!”

All contributions will be greatly appreciated by this prayerful and wonderful couple who have a heart of community built in their love for God and all people as family.
