Hi friends,
I recently found this sweet boy wandering alone near the 37 in Vallejo. He was scared, hungry, and in need of help. Knowing that someone would be looking for this lovable dog, I took him home.
That was March 10th. Since then, we have found the people listed as his owners down in Los Angeles, who made it clear they had passed him on to someone else who should have given him a good home in San Francisco. They are not able to take him back and have no idea how he ended up wandering near a busy freeway.
We are calling him Bigsby and looking for a forever home. He is 9 months old and a Mastiff/Rottie mix (according to the original owners).
He’s a gentle, loving, intelligent dog who deserves a second chance at a happy life.
We hope to raise the funds needed to provide him with all the basics: good food, vet care, vaccines, and, most importantly, get him neutered.
We want to ensure he stays happy and healthy, and if we can take care of these basics, we hope that people will be more inclined to welcome him into their home as a new family member.
We did not intend to bring a young dog into our lives, but we cannot imagine him doing well in a shelter environment. Our plan is to give Bigsby a safe place in our home to rest and know that he is loved even after being abandoned in a scary, strange, and dangerous place (cold, windy, no shelter or fresh water, and so close to Hwy 37, where animals are killed almost daily).
We’re raising funds to cover:
Neutering & vaccinations to keep him safe and prevent future health issues
Food & supplies to make sure he stays well-fed and comfortable
Other medical care like flea treatment and a wellness check
Every little bit helps! If you can donate—even just the cost of a cup of coffee—it will go a long way in making sure this sweet pup gets the care he needs. If you’re unable to donate, please share his story to help us find him the support he deserves and, hopefully, a perfect forever home.
Potential owners must be committed to training him, providing adequate veterinary care (he doesn't have any unusual or extraordinary medical needs), and ensuring he gets the exercise he needs to thrive. He's a Doberman Mastiff mix, and potential owners should understand these breeds and the needs that they will have. (They are super smart and very large.)
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity; they are much appreciated! ❤️
