For Avi, with love ❤️

Hello,

Avi is on day 10 at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. She was diagnosed with leukemia on 4.24.2020 and, from there on, chemotherapy. Unfortunately, she caught a respiratory virus (Rhino Enterovirus-- a common cold virus), and it tanked her blood counts, especially her neutrophils that fight infection and come from the bone marrow. Since chemo suppresses her bone marrow, and so does viral infection, fever is an ER visit for her.

On day 10, she is still at 0.0 on the neutrophils, other counts are beginning to improve, but the neutrophils are not evident yet. Her oncologist says if by week 3 she has not recovered, they have to biopsy the bone marrow.

Veronica’s Mom and Dad are helping with Josai, Avi’s little brother - thank goodness.

Veronica took last week off from work and this week to be with her! Unfortunately, there is not much paid time off left available for her. The last thing a mother needs at this moment is to worry about finances and bills.

I am praying day and night that she is healed and restored. Anything will help❤️
