Hello AutismUp Families,

One of our long-standing parents, Alison Baase, has had a re-occurrence of cancer for the third time. As a single mother to Russell (18), Alison has always put her son first. It is hard to ask for help, especially when something so devastating hits a single parent. It has been a very difficult journey for her and Russell. She was in the hospital through the entire month of December and was able to return home in mid-January. Thankfully, her son has been able to stay at a respite home. Despite the tremendous challenges she faces, Alison remains resilient in the face of this unthinkable disease.

Alison is undergoing intense immuno-therapy and is in a lot of pain. While unable to work her income has decreased while her expenses have significantly increased. Any contribution, no matter the size, will greatly help Alison and her family. Our autism community has always been about helping each other through our own individual crises. Let’s now come together to help alleviate some of the financial burden so that Alison can focus on her health and well-being. Every act of kindness and expression of solidarity will provide her with the strength and motivation she needs to fight this battle.
