Hello my name is Rich and I'm hoping to raise funds for my nephew Alex Welch. Alex was found last Thursday unconscious at his residence and rushed to the ER where he was intubated because his breathing was shallow. He was soon diagnosed with diabetic ketoacidosis. He was unconscious for 24 hours and breathing using the ventilator. He woke the second day, but they put him back to sleep with drugs because he was fighting the ventilator. On Saturday they removed the ventilator and took him off of the sleeping meds. They did a MRI and a CT scan and found 7 tumors on his brain and 1 in a lymph node under his arm. They are stage 4 melanoma, they are treating with radiation and immunotherapy. His kidneys took a hit due to the ketoacidosis so he is undergoing dialysis and his doctors believe this will be temporary.

Alex has 2 wonderful children, Jaxson 14 and Blakely 8. His employer has placed him on medical leave which preserves his position at the company with some benefits however, it does not include continuing pay. Alex will need financial help with monthly obligations, and medical bills,, insurance premiums and other expenses.

Update:

The MRI showed swelling on the brain. Which probably accounts for agitation and change of personality. They increased the steroids and this morning seem to be a lot better. He starts his radiation treatment today. Everyone pray that this will take care of this problem.
