Victor Mergil, father, brother, son, and friend to countless many, was in a near-death motorcycle accident on Friday, October 10, 2025. He was on his way home from having dinner with a friend that night when he was trying to merge onto another road. A speeding truck refused to let him in, causing him to swerve to avoid a collision, hitting the median.
Victor's motorcycle flipped and fell on top of him, while the driver sped away. Thankfully there was an unknown angel there who stopped to help and used her own clothes to stop the bleeding on the back of his head until help arrived.
He should not have made it, and honestly, Victor in that moment thought he was breathing his last breaths. But by the grace of God he is alive.
He was rushed to UMC, thankfully a highly skilled trauma center, and was found to have a serious concussion, a broken wrist and hand, and a fractured spine and slipped disk.
He will have surgery on his back, and a long, long road to recovery.
He had just started a new job working with pediatric medical equipment to supplement his life-long passion and work as an excellent barber. If you know Victor and your a dude, he probably cut your hair.
Victor, my brother, is as big as they come. A dedicated Harley driver, he's the biggest vato in any room, and he has a heart to match. He's the guy who will walk with you those two miles when you asked for one. He will feed you and your children, and your dog, and then feed you more and give you food to take home. He's the cookout king and anyone and everyone is always welcome through his doors, which was our father's home for many, many years.
What Victor needs is healing, and prayers. Additionally, he's going to have a lot to catch up on once he gets back up on his feet. Considering that, any financial help given through this fundraiser would be greatly appreciated.
I am his brother, and I thank you for reading this post and for any and all help you can offer. All funds will go towards his medical expenses and to maintain his home.
God bless you
Fernando Mergil
