This is a very difficult story, but one that needs to be shared. On Sunday August 15, 2021 we set out to the coast to visit some family. What seemed to be the start of a very fun vacation turned sideways quick. Austin and Grayson were out driving the side-by-side heading to Opas farm, and had afreak accident. This accident resulted in them hitting a bump, loosing control and they ended impacting a pole. While both of my boys were hurt, Austin in particular got the worst of it. The Neighbor was on the scene and called 911 right away. Grayson broke his arm and suffered minor injuries, he set that aside to help Austin. Everyone arrived on scene and waiting for the paramedics. Once the paramedics arrived they observed the scene and decided it was best to have Austin transported by helicopter to the Vancouver Childrens Hospital. This 11 year-old-boy is the strongest kid I know, the paramedics swore he broke his arm and leg, in multiple regions, but did not. He suffered a traumatic head injury which resulted in many fractures in his skull as well as fractures in his right cheek bone. He also suffered major bruising on the right side of his body and pelvic region. Austin will be in the Vancouver Childrens Hospital for at least another week, and will need surgery on his right eye. Health Care, such as the helicopter ride, travelling costs, hotel fees, surgeries, rehabilitation costs as well as trauma therapy for both my boys. This accident has been extremely difficult for both of them, due to covid-19 they are not allowed to see eachother.
