Hello everyone!
My name is Beth, and I'm trying to raise money to help my sister pay for her dog's upcoming costly vet visits.
King (AKA Big Bubba) is a senior American Bulldog mix who joined our family almost 5 years ago. He was taken from a home where his situation was less than ideal. My sister, Carrie, got him from a friend who had taken him from the aforementioned bad situation. King was unfortunately having a hard time getting along with her friend's other male dog, and Carrie was looking for a companion of her own, so it just made sense from the start. From the moment he came to our home, King very obviously showed signs of past abuse and suffered from separation anxiety. It broke our hearts to see such a sweet, loving, well-behaved dog struggling as much as he did. But he adjusted to the crazy of this family quite well and fit perfectly in Carrie's bed, and the rest is history. Anyone that knows us knows that despite his quirks, he is a major part of this family, and we all love him dearly.
King is now about 12-13 years old, according to the approximate age that we were told when he came to us. He suffers from various food sensitivities and is a fussy eater. King also struggles with chronic ear infections, sore joints, and skin issues due to anxiety-induced compulsive licking and nipping. As you all know or may imagine, frequent vet visits for issues like these can become very costly, and this year Carrie's budget for vet visits has been exhausted.
King started struggling with what we now hope is only an eye infection and possible joint pain these last couple of days, and we are unable to pull together the funds for yet another vet visit right now, as his last costly visit was just a few weeks ago. We are all beside ourselves and scared of what might happen if we don't get him to the vet ASAP. He is worsening by the day; he won't come out from hiding under tables and beds, and is refusing to take walks any longer than 2-3 minutes. He trembles when he stands, and looks terribly sad and exhausted. We are worried that his refusal to take regular walks will cause further health problems. Those of you who know us can likely imagine how much our hearts are breaking seeing him like this, and we know that he needs to get to the vet for testing as soon as possible, so we are out of options.
We are hoping to raise funds to cover any and all necessary exams and medications. Should there be any further expenses, we will update, and continue to raise necessary funds until King is better and back to being the energetic and happy wannabe pup that he always is.
Please find it in your hearts to donate to our cause, or even just share the link with your friends and family. Any amount helps, and this dog auntie and her sister would be eternally grateful for your helping us with pulling this big teddy bear back out from his current uncomfortable, withdrawn state.
Thank you all for any and all support offered.
-Beth
