Please donate - terminal cancer, let's fight it together!

Hello big wide wonderful world. I have a pretty precarious situation in front of me after a startling discovery in October 2023. And I'm hoping in your own small but not insignificant way you can help me to a brighter future.

I am attempting to raise funds to help with my ongoing treatment as I am on a cancer clinical trial which is not supported by the public benefits scheme.

Around mid October 2023 I began having slight stomach pain, unusual as I was relatively fit and healthy, or so I thought.

After ultrasounds, ct scans etc my GP referred me to a specialist, effectively saving my life. After more tests I was referred to an oncologist, who immediately made me an inpatient, and I began chemotherapy. Due to further complications I had radiology on my spine.

From stomach complaint to hospital admission - 4 weeks.

In short I have stage 4 liver cancer, which is terminal; the specific rare cancer I have is multi-focal intra-hepatic cholangiocarcinoma. However, the prognosis seems good!

Early in my cancer journey I signed up for clinical trials, as was accepted. There is a drug being tested, that is having encouraging results for my type of rare cancer.

The drug is not yet on the public register, so potentially I was looking at 3 weekly treatments and around $21,000 per treatment. Thankfully my oncologist managed to work out some good fortune my way, and I was looking at around $7500 one off, combined with a $600 every 3 weeks chemo pill treatment plan.

I am 58 years of age, and am luckily still employed at the time of writing. My wife Pauline has been amazing through this journey and of the 7 odd months we've battled, we've done so in hospital, totaling 8 weeks. And my wife has been there every step of the way.

So what I am asking for is $10,000 which will put a pretty decent dent in our financial predicament. Pharmaceuticals,

Radiation Therapy is covered, and should I somehow raise more than my target, then $1500 car parking and various treatments CAT, PET scans can be paid for.

This has been really hard to write. For those that know me, I'd much rather give than ask for anything - but these are extraoridiary times. This treatment will prolong my life, so thank you for your thoughts and particularly if you are able to donate.
