Please donate for fire relief

My name is Gailen Popola and my roommate is Shawn Korp. We're just two trans guys that have lived in Philadelphia together since 2016. We've been in our current house since 2017. We've grown together in this home and put down roots in the community.

Unfortunately, on Monday night, November 13th, our home caught fire due to a tragic accident. We all got out just in time, but we lost one of our cats in the fire. Our friends and neighbors have come together to offer what they can to help, such as food and clothing. We are currently staying with friends, and we will be in a hotel starting Friday, but our insurance is only covering about 2-3 weeks accommodations.

After that, we will be on our own to find a new place to rent. We are asking for your support with any monetary contribution that you are willing to spare in our time of displacement.

We are looking to use this money towards a security deposit for a new place, moving expenses, and storage unit fees for our furniture and belongings that can be saved (which isn't much). I recently started a houseplant business, and have lost all of my inventory in the fire. Shawn works with adults with disabilities, and is an artist by hobby. He still isn't sure what can be salvaged. We are immensely grateful for all that we still have, and the incredible amount of support that we have received. However, we still have a long way to go before we are able to secure a new place to live. Thank you for taking the time to read this, we appreciate your support.
