For those who might not know me, my name is Mandy. The cat featured on this page is my kitty, Theo. Theo has been with me since he was four months old. He's now almost 8, and is truly the best cat ever. I call him my soulmate (though he's also known as Fangy Boy). My family and I adopted him in 2017 through the rescue we've worked with since about 2008. We've been inseparable since.

About three weeks ago, a decent sized lump showed up on Theo's ankle practically overnight. This weekend, he went to the vet. The doctor determined based on round cells found in it via an onsite cytology examination that it is extremely likely to be cancer, potentially an aggressive form given that the lump formed so quickly. They'd like to do a surgery in about two weeks to remove it and determine what options there might be for treatment.

I was given an estimate of $1,900-$2,400 for just this first excision and diagnostic surgery alone. This is far more than even my rent, which was also just raised and we're cutting other expenses to be able to afford. Though Theo has cat insurance and I may be reimbursed some of that, I cannot afford this surgery with the full upfront cost. We also didn't qualify for CareCredit. With rent, bills, groceries, single momming, an upcoming uncancellable trip, Theo's new kitty brother Felix moving in this week, my extremely rare/more-often-than-not debilitating kidney disease, and life in general, I now face incredibly difficult situations and decisions.

Though I would never expect anyone to donate, please know that anything helps. I am not one to ask for help like this, and am only doing so given the emergent situation and at the request of many of my friends and family member. Any excess funds will be put towards potential treatment for whatever is found based the surgery.
