Help for TJ Byers and his family!

Hi, my name is Shannon, and I am fundraising for my dear cousin TJ Byers and his mom, Susan Hall. On Friday, April 22, 2022, TJ Byers was unexpectedly hospitalized while out of town in Myrtle Beach, SC- four hours from his home and family. He spent the night in the hospital, and luckily had a dear cousin close by that could wait with him and provide comfort until his mom, Susan Hall, and his step-father, Melvin Hall, were able to make the drive to Myrtle Beach to be by his side.

The next day, after scary lab results indicating severe issues with blood clots in both lungs, highly elevated liver enzymes, decreased kidney function and heart function at only 5-10%, TJ coded in the hospital. Luckily, the staff at Grand Strand were able to bring him back, and after some time in the ICU, TJ is starting to improve. TJ remains in the ICU at this time, but the doctors are hoping with continued improvements in labs and the proper cardiac medications, he will be able to recover at home while waiting for a possible heart transplant.

TJ's daughter recently underwent a heart transplant at the age of 11 years old as she suffers from the same condition that TJ inherited. Susan and Melvin will work around the clock to provide the care TJ needs while he is recovering from his recent ICU stay and in the days ahead.
