Please consider helping my mom and dad
What a nightmare for my family. On around May 12- my dad called his family doctor with symptoms of body aches, cough, sore throat, runny nose. They told him to take an allergy pill and sent him on his way. A couple days later my mom took him to soin with difficulty breathing along with all of the same symptoms. They did a chest x ray which showed pneumonia in the left lung. They wouldn’t test him for covid due to him not being admitted. They said he needed to test at UD. Well we had some wind that day and the tent had blown down and wouldn’t be back up until the following Monday. Saturday night the 16th into Sunday morning, my mom ended up taking him back to Soin because he wasn’t acting like himself and was confused, he had passed out during this time. At soin, he was FINALLY tested for covid and it was positive. Another chest x ray confirmed pneumonia now in both lungs. They transferred him to sycamore and that’s where he remains on a ventilator fighting for his life. During this whole process- my mom was also diagnosed with covid and was in the hospital for a few days.
I am making this go fund me for my mom right now. Neither her nor my dad have an income coming in right now. Before my dad got sick- he was getting quotes on a new AC unit for the house(their AC unit is out :() which is not good for someone with covid and that has asthma in this heat. As a short term fix- we brought over a standing AC unit for the mean time. So far the quote we got for a whole new unit is $2500. Not only that but their floor drain is backing up and flooding the laundry room when my mom does a load of laundry. When it rains it pours right? On top of these issues, my mom is trying to get ahold of unemployment and also trying to see if they can get an extension on some of their bills. My moms hospital bills will start rolling in from when she was there. They also gave her oxygen to use at night and insurance won’t cover that. This is just all a mess.
If you know my dad, you know how GREAT of a man he is and how devastated we are over this. He’s the best husband to my mom (they’re truly best friends), how great of a dad he is to my brother and I, and how wonderful of a pa he is! He just loves his grand babies so much! It breaks my heart because they have no idea. He has a new grandson to meet and we are very hopeful he will pull through this.
