Please consider helping Louie/Nancy Backus

Nancy Backus (rescue advocate extraordinarie ) is needing our help.  Her world is her two dogs Louie  and Chloe.  Louie was out for a walk on Tuesday and started acting not himself.  Upon going to the vet it was clear that he was bloating.  Nancy rushed him to the Care Center where they performed emergency surgery.  Time is of the essence when it comes to bloat and financially it is the operation so many of us could not afford.  Nancy was able to borrow a friends' credit card to put down the down payment needed to save Louie's life. The surgery was successful and now the the cost to do so has become a reality.  If Nancy had to do it all again, her decision to do the surgery would have been the same.  



 Let me share a little bit about Nancy and the true overall champion of dogs she truly is. Nancy traveled to New Orleans to do rescue after hurricane Katrina.  Louie was just a puppy and came home with Nancy to foster.  Eventually Nancy adopted him into her family.  A year later Nancy traveled  back down to New Orleans to volunteer at a shelter still struggling from Katrina and came home with Louie's sister Chloe.  After that Nancy went on to help with hurricanes Matthew and Irma and the flooding in Baton Rouge. She also began transporting and fostering rescue dogs as well as helping to reunite lost dogs all over Cincinnati.  Countless hours is what this woman did to help those needing to find lost pets.  She would drop everything to go searching and to guide others as to how to do their very best to find a lost one.  She is responsible for many reunions between pups and their owners.

Please consider helping Nancy.  No amount is too small.  This woman would do whatever she could to help another.  After being friends with her for years, I know first-hand that to be true.
