Please can you help my Dad

Unfortunately in the early hours of Thursday morning my dad Jeffrey Froley had an awful fire in his neighbours downstairs flat in Vernon house Bridgend.

He was awakened by the sound his neighbours smoke alarms.

He put his coat on and started knocking the doors of other residents in the complex Unfortunately he and his friend Terry tried to alert their neighbour but the fire had taken hold because of the intensity of the blaze they were unable to do anything else so had to stand back waiting for the fire service to arrive.

In this extremely harrowing time he had to see his own flat start to ignite and within minutes was fully engulfed by the fire 

My husband went to the scene to find my father and found him wandering up the road totally confused it was heartbreaking 

Unfortunately we heard the horrific news that the gentleman did not survive the blaze 

Our hearts and condolences go out to his family and freinds

My father has lost everything, and at this awful time I am hoping that as a community we can pull together to give him the support and help that he will need going forward.  House fires are devastating but thankfully are an extremly rare occurrence these days due to the early warning by way of smoke alarms

My father owes his life by way of a smoke alarm
