PLEASE BRING CHARLIE HOME ❤️

Hi, my name is Ben and I am urgently seeking your help and will be grateful of any donation you can make to the following cause;

On the Sunday 4th August my father in law Charlie Norris fell whilst on holiday in Italy and broke his femur and hip. He was transferred to a local hospital but was unable to have surgery due to him being on blood thinners. We were hopeful of an operation taking place on Friday 9th August, but due to his blood sugar levels not being steady, this was again pushed back to a later date. In this time the only pain relief he was being given by the hospital was paracetamol.

However, come Monday 12th in the late evening it was discovered he had a cardiac arrhythmia and shortly followed by a discovery of sepsis. Since then he has been unconscious in the ICU in critical but stable condition and touch and go with his health. On Thursday 15th following more tests and scans it was discovered that his lungs were failing, his one kidney had completely failed and that he also has prostate cancer. His lungs are showing a shadow and doctors believe this is due to the cancer spreading but cannot do tests due to the current state of his kidneys.

Whilst the doctors are willing to allow us to discharge him from hospital, the insurance company as it stands will not allow him to travel via Medivac plane until the doctor gives him a “Fit to fly”.

These last couple of weeks have taken an unbelievable toll on all of Charlies family and friends and we are desperate for help. His daughter and wife are currently with him right now, but they are only allowed to spend 5 minutes with him twice a day. We fully understand that moving him whilst he is critical, but given everything that has happened and his recent discovery of cancer, we are just desperate to get him home with his loved ones where we hope he can then begin treatment and have surgery for his broken femur and hip.

To some, this may be first time you have heard of Charlie, but to others he is a Husband, Father of 3, Grandfather of 4, Son, Brother and friend of many. He has worked his entire life in Alnwick Northumberland and has been an integral part of the Fishing industry for the past 40+ years designing fishing reels for Hardy Flyfishing.

Your donations will be going towards a potential Medivac flight if the insurnace cannot cover this & any treatment / rehabilitation for Charlie when he comes home.
