My girlfriend Jolene and I are in a tough spot. Her car has been in North Dakota since July 2nd after we took a long awaited road trip to see my family in Manitoba. We were stranded in the Grand Forks area until we flew back on July 4th (four one way tickets). Jolene’s car was fixed (we thought) the following week, then she flew back to Grand Forks this past Friday (one way ticket #5) to retrieve it . Made all her flights considering the computer breach/issues that occurred that day. While picking up her car from the mechanic today, it still wasn’t running quite right, so they took it to the dealer to check codes. Dealer said it should be fine, so off she went down I-29. 100 miles down the road and 20 miles from Fargo, the car broke down AGAIN! She is currently roadside waiting on a tow to get to the dealership in Fargo/Moorhead, then to a hotel tonight and Sunday and, you guessed it, one way ticket #6 back home MONDAY (no flights available Sunday). We are so out of pocket and maxed out it has become laughable:

6 one way plane tickets (and counting?)

5 nights of hotel stay (and counting?)

2 tows and likely a second mechanic bill in Fargo

Food, Ubers, trip insurances, etc.
