Please Aid Christopher and His Wife in Their Time of Need

Hello, all! Christopher Dunn here (that's me in 2018 in the photo). At the end of January of this year, I had seizures and collapsed, ending up in the hospital for 8 days. In that time, I was diagnosed with Diabetes, a "Mass" on my right Kidney, gallstones and a "cavernous malformation" in my lower brain near the stem. Oh, and I have a hernia.

When it rains, it pours.

My wife also needs cataract surgery.

We are on a fixed income and my Kidney surgery is coming up in the next couple of months. The mass is cancerous and I'm hoping it can be removed without taking the whole kidney -- fingers crossed. Our insurance will not cover all the costs associated with all we are soon to go through. Our financial reserves were used up taking care of the initial medical bills (I didn't have insurance).

The Diabetes is being managed with diet at this time. I am off Insulin and Metformin; now just diet and Berberine are keeping that in control, so good news there. Even so, the kidney surgery looms and there is still the question of whether or not I get to keep some of my right kidney.

This incident is something I do not remember -- the seizures wiped out some of my memory completely and everything from about just before Christmas 2023 to when I was brought out of my medically induced coma on February 3rd, 2024 is just gone. I couldn't talk or read at first, either, however that's pretty much gone.

I'd like to have these surgeries (Kidney, Hernia -- I'll keep the gallstones for now) and find out more about what's happening in my head (that thing in my brain). If I have to be hospitalized, my wife will need that cataract surgery so she can see well enough to drive as I will be unable to do that while hospitalized and we live in a rural area far from any services.

I am an upbeat guy, even now with all this going on, however we need help and that has been stressing both of us out a great deal. As an optimistic sort, I think there are folks out there willing to step up and do that -- help out.

As an independent type, it's always been me (and us) who have gone the extra mile to help others and I was taught to be self-sufficient -- to not take charity. How can I do that, though? I mean, if I like to help others out, I have to know they're there, right? And if you are like me at all, then you'd have to know about my situation in order to help, right?

I feel sometimes like an old beat up car that needs a lot of work. I had no idea how much was going on inside me until I collapsed. So I got help with my diabetes and there's other stuff that needs fixing, too. Like when you go to do a tune up on your car and find out it needs a fuel pump -- and an alternator, oh, and the brakes are worn, too. It feels like that, only now it's my body.

As you can see, I still have my sense of humor through all this, though it has been a real struggle maintaining my upbeat and happy disposition with all that has come along. My wife is having a tougher time as she had to experience the potential for losing me completely that January evening when I collapsed and it has been harder on her than me in many ways.

Please help in reducing my wife's anxiety and worry for my health if you can. We would both sincerely appreciate it. Thanks to all of you in advance for your consideration, assistance and support in this time for us as we wend our way back to a healthy disposition.

Thanks again and God Bless!
