Please help bright 7 year old Kaylee go to school

Donation protected
Hi there, my name is Jodie and I'm fundraising for my friend's daughter to get an education that SHOULD be available to all children for free.  People in South Africa cannot use fundraising sites, hence I am doing this for her.

My friend, Carike, is a 27 year old single mother who works all the hours god sends in a supermarket to provide for her daughter and her mother, a pensioner who cannot work any more due to ill health. Carike has had some very bad health problems this year and had to have surgery, which has eaten up all their savings. She also lost work whilst the riots in Durban were ongoing in the Summer.

In the UK, all children have a right to an education. In South Africa this isn't necessarily the case. If you work (even if you are on a low salary like Carike) it is unlikely you will get funding. Kaylee does not qualify

There are no benefits in South Africa like there is in the UK, so the family live hand to mouth, and Kaylee was only able to attend school last year because of kind donations from people like yourselves.

Kaylee is a beautiful little girl, who is very kind and considerate of others. She's extremely bright and her favourite thing to do is Homework (how many kids say that???) she is so proud of her school uniform!

Every child should have the right to an education... But Kaylee's fee for 2022 comes to R55,920 (around £3000). This is more than Carike earns in a year. It includes the tuition, stationery, uniforms, equipment, meals, transport and excursions.

You may have heard of the corruption, unfairness and discord in South Africa and the education system is just one example of this. Single parent families struggle to even live, let alone provide.

I have known Carike since 2011, when I spent some time in South Africa, and she is a wonderful, hard working young woman who has had far more to cope with from life for someone of her age. Fleeing from an abusive relationship for her safety and Kaylee's safety cost her everything and she had to start again.

She's done everything she can for Kaylee, but due to the treatment and surgery she needed, the money for the school fees is now gone.

If 1000 people could just spare the cost of a cup of coffee, then Kaylee can go to school this year. We must pay the fees by 20th November. Please, please, please help.
