Hi! We are Janelle, Bohen & Adrianna. This is Chase- he’s our 3 year old Aussie Shepherd and son we never had. Anyone that knows Chase, loves him- he’s 1 of a kind. He loves walks, runs, car rides, people and of course- kids. He is my daughters biggest protector in life.

He was hit by a car last night and is currently in critical condition at the emergency veterinary hospital.

Due to the impact and trauma to his lungs- he can’t breathe on his own so they had to resort to putting him into an oxygen chamber. This is due to impact and blood in his lungs. The expense of this alone is $3,000/day.

His right eye has trauma and is also blood filled.

He has a lacerated artery in his front left leg which is where majority of the blood loss came from.

They have it bandaged with pressure bandages for now. They can’t look at or assess it as of yet because he would have to go under anesthesia- but him and his lungs are not capable of going under due to not being able to breathe on his own.

They can not rule out head trauma until a CT scan or MRI is done but those run $3500-$5,000 per scan.

All in all- our baby boy is fighting for his life. He can not be evaluated any further until he can come out of the oxygen chamber. He would possibly need surgery on his leg depending on the severity of it. There has been extensive costs in pain medicines, antibiotics, fluids, emergency visits, overnight stays, blood work, ultrasounds, x rays and of course- the oxygen cost per day to keep him alive. He is not close to being out of the woods yet and will still require around the clock care at the Emergency Vet. As you can imagine, this is going to be a bigger expense than our family can handle.
