Eric Domanico was a vibrant son and talented young artist whose career in music was full of
promise. Through his music, he selflessly dedicated his life to enriching others and the world
around him. Unfortunately, while Eric was caring for others, he was also quietly struggling with
his mental health. On July 11th, 2020, Eric lost this battle.
Eric is and was not alone. Far too many young artists struggle with their mental health.
In December of 2020, during the Pandemic, Musicians around the world collaborated to share
a special tribute to Eric. The Eric Domanico Foundation commissioned David Biedenbender
to compose a piece of music that interacts with a recording of Eric’s quartet performing an
arrangement of Percy Grainger’s “Irish Tune from County Derry (Danny Boy)”. 40
saxophonists came together from around the world to celebrate Eric’s life and legacy and to
play alongside him in a virtual saxophone choir. You can watch the initial launch of the

The project was such a success in raising awareness for the mental health of young artists
and musicians, that we decided to expand it to include hundreds of musicians, artists, and
friends around the world to join the #PlayWithEric 2022 initiative.

We expect this movement to grow a thousand strong to continue providing inspiration and
hope.
The Eric Domanico Foundation was created to raise awareness and fund scholarships for
aspiring artists and musicians to cultivate their talents.
During this giving season and with your support, we can provide annual scholarships and
continue the #PlayWithEric initiative to support young artists like Eric and make mental health
a priority, and create change.
