The Playland Arcade on the world famous Santa Monica Pier needs your help to survive the pandemic lockdown!
Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic and California's lockdown orders, the Playland Arcade has been closed since March 15, 2020. Unfortunately, this lockdown has significantly hurt this very well-known, family-run business, which has been owned and operated for over 60 years by the Gordon family. The Gordon brothers began their arcade legacy back in 1950, eventually bringing their games to the Santa Monica Pier in 1954. Today the arcade is run by George Gordon's daughters, Marlene and Joanie, and granddaughters, Dana and Monique.
Sadly, the pandemic has kept the Playland Arcade closed for an unimaginable period of time. The Arcade is usually open 365 days a year. With no end in site for the current California lockdown, the Playland Arcade, which supports many families, is greatly in need of your help. Many of their faithful, hardworking employees have been employed with the Playland Arcade for 20-30 years. With the holidays approaching, the owners need to ensure that everyone employed with the Playland Arcade can put food on their tables and pay their bills.
The Playland Arcade has taken every step possible to ensure a safe environment for its customers, but they are still awaiting the green light to open their doors. If they don't open their doors soon they are unsure what the future will hold for this family business.
In order to help keep the Playland Arcade alive, please consider donating to help keep this amazing business, loved by people of all ages, so that they can welcome you back to play skeeball, air hockey, pinball games, and more, when California finally allows them to open their doors.
