"Playback: Demo Tape"

Hi there! My name's Patrick Grealis and I'm an actor and writer from the fictional country of Ohio. In 2023, my dad suddenly took his own life. Even though he had told me for years on end to be ready for something like that to possibly happen, it was still obviously a shock to the system. A year later, I started developing the script "Playback", a comedy-drama about a young music producer and his relationship with his recently deceased father that I hope to star in some day, much like my main man Matt Damon with "Good Will Hunting". The script combines multiple different tones and genres, from music to mystery to satire and even some horror, into a big love letter to my dad (although it'll appeal to everybody else too, I'm sure!).

Unfortunately however, I'm no Matt Damon. I'm hardly even a Joey Tribbiani. I haven't appeared in a big Hollywood film yet and I have next to no connections to that world. But, I hope to change all of that with...*drum roll* "Playback: Demo Tape". This short film will adapt the opening scene of the script and act as a proof-of-concept film to show off the story, as well as my acting capabilities. And we have a fantastic cast and crew onboard to help bring this harrowing yet humorous scene to life.

Now, all we need is your help. Filmmaking can be cheap on rare occasions, but more often than not, it's expensive and it burns a massive hole in your pocket. And this one's no exception. We have actors to pay, mouths to feed, costumes and props to buy, and vehicles to rent. So, in order to make this short look as professional as possible without it involving any actual professionals, we're looking for donations of any kind to help bolster our film to the quality we feel it deserves.
