Growing up in Ghana, I witnessed how poverty could force brilliant young girls to give up their futures. I still remember Olivia, a bright girl in my class who had to leave school because her family could no longer afford it. Her story stayed with me and eventually inspired me to found Plastos and Keevah. Plastos is building recycling infrastructure in Ghana while creating safer, more stable income opportunities for collectors through plastic collection and recycling. Keevah focuses on supporting vulnerable women and girls through safety, housing, healing, and long-term empowerment. Together, we believe in creating pathways where none existed before so fewer girls lose their futures to poverty.
The funds raised will support the launch of Plastos’ first 100-day pilot program in Accra, Ghana. This pilot will help us build collection routes, rent storage space, train and support collectors, purchase basic equipment, and establish the operational systems needed to grow sustainably. Every contribution helps place collection bags, gloves, safer working conditions, and income opportunities into the hands of workers while reducing plastic pollution in local communities.
This mission is about more than recycling. It is about dignity, opportunity, and building systems that create long-term change. Together, we can turn waste into opportunity and help create futures that poverty once tried to take away.
