PLASTIC CROWNS - A Short Film
Donation protected
Hello, I'm Tom Prezman, I'm a filmmaker and I've made two animated short films that featured at festivals such as Cannes and Clermont-Ferrand. Nowadays I'm pursuing my Master's degree at ESCAC Film School in Catalunya and working on my first live-action short film Plastic Crowns. This project is very close to my heart as it explores my family history and personal experiences.
The story follows Benny, a queer Vogue dancer, who struggles with performing his art. While determined to honor his late grandmother in an upcoming ball competition, Benny discovers a hidden truth about her death. Benny must find a way to cope with this revelation and find the true meaning of inner strength.
The film, featuring Jorel Paranoidomm in the lead role, talks about the struggles we face in life and the need to grow despite our inherited traumas. As well as the difficulty of finding our own source of strength in a world where appearance and talent are the most valued.

Any remaining funds after production costs will go to the actors, who are primarily queer and from marginalized backgrounds. This film is a collaboration that highlights our stories and our community.
