Hello! I’m Cordale Echols, a 43-year-old gardener from South Memphis. Since I was 13, gardening has been my passion, and I’m eager to transform a vacant corner lot into a vibrant community garden. This project is designed not only for my neighborhood but also for everyone in our wider community.
I learned to grow my own food from my grandma, Lee Ella Echols, who taught me its importance. Although she has passed, her legacy inspires my mission. Many elderly residents in our community remember her teachings, yet they struggle to access healthy food. That’s where I come in.
With your support, I can turn this empty lot into a thriving garden that offers fresh, nutritious fruits and vegetables. This space will nourish our elders and educate our youth about the value of gardening. Additionally, I plan to plant trees to beautify our area and improve air quality.
The total cost of the property is $5,500, and I have just 2.5 months to raise the funds needed to make this dream a reality. Your contributions will help create a space that fosters health, education, and community spirit for all.
Thank you for considering supporting my vision. Together, we can make a meaningful difference!
