"Plan Bee" Short Film

Plan Bee is a dramatic comedy short film by Danielle Gibson! It follows an Entomology major Bailey, who wishes to study abroad in Australia to study the new breeds of bees but finds herself needing to take an emergency contraceptive pill. She wishes to keep complete control over her body, just like a Queen Bee when planning to have her offspring.
The topic of this film is extremely important as it makes a statement on reproductive rights for women. Especially with the current events in the United States it is imperative that a film like this be made to spread awareness of how women are losing rights to their own bodies and how that affects everyone. This film is not targeted specifically towards women but to every gender, as this affects us all. When one group is hurting we all need to work together to lift them back up.
This film is senior Danielle Gibson's Thesis Film at Towson University. She has previously worked on her "Film III" called Marci's White Rabbit, which follows a young girl seeking inner peace within a domestically abusive household.
The funds will be used for paying for camera insurance, light rentals, food, costumes, set pieces, and advertisement. Below is a chart that shows exactly how much money goes where. We hope to meet our goal but if we were so lucky as to SURPASS it, we would be able to better support our crew with buying food, and have more funds to submit to film festivals across the country.
We would benefit from receiving the funds IMMEDIATELY as we have a lot of materials to buy for constructing (yes, as in building) our set before our shoot dates: March 30th- April 3rd! We are excited to share our plans in future updates!
The Marci’s White Rabbit Team was humbled by all of the support from our GoFundMe Family and we hope to update all on the films progress in the festivals it has been submitted to!
